In "Crumbling Caves," fantasy cartographer Ed Bourelle maintains the high artwork standards set in the many previous e-Adventure Tiles sets. "Crumbling Caves" includes 32 tiles, each 6" square, that depict caves with rocky debris in them. You can mix and match the tiles to produce a variety of cave layouts. The set stands on its own, but also synergizes well with SKG's previous cave sets. Here's the problem, though: even Ed has a hard time making debris-strewn caves exciting. Compared to some of Ed's other recent work, such as the new weeklies, "Crumbling Caves" borders on the boring. As a utility set, "Crumbling Caves" does its job, and does it well, but it doesn't reach out and inspire you with a setting for your next adventure. It's a good addition to the line, but not one of Ed's stronger offerings.
