Attention, anyone who has purchased this book and is in despair over it not being completed. I have done what I can to make it you can run this adventure path without the need of books 3 through 7, including making a makeshift player's guide. Unfortunately, those books may never see the light of day. However, that doesn't mean that there isn't any kind of solution. Head here to the Paizo forum for Book 2, and see my additional links. They'll aid you in finishing the adventure through various different means, should you choose to do so.

Following the Kickstarter intended to launch this six-book series, Gary McBride pocketed $40,000 of backers money. He then went on an African safari Seriously, he announced this on Kickstarter to his backers. At the time, everyone was happy for him and said it was well deserved. Two books were published and he then disappeared, stopped answering questions, and just occasionally said, "it's coming soon... everything is written... just doing final touches..." Nothing. It's hard to see this adventure path as anything other than a giant con job on Gary's customers, cashing in on the success of his previous series. Stay away. You'll never see the next four books on this AP.

I've brought this up again and again, only because other people bring up the safari. You can't just go on one. You have to plan for it, book it, etc. It was his and his wife's anniversary and the secondary plan of action for him was to do research because of the jungle atmosphere. I do not and will not condone his non-completion of the adventure path, but the safari should not be made into the focus here. Just the fact that he didn't complete goals. I don't see the part about him hiring an intern who'd take care of everything while he away on said safari. That was a thing too. And he didn't pocket the $40k. He paid his artist a large sum of that for all the art. His artist said as much, publicly, on the forum. By no means am I defending his actions, but the facts have to be brought forward. Sadly, I agree that the AP will likely never see the light of day, and that's a shame for us who paid out of pocket.

!!!Attention please!!!

Gary McBride is a con man. He has and probably never had the intention to finish the Throne of Night Kickstarter. He missed the five-year finishing line on purpose. From the promised six books only two ever were published. He didn't react on emails for years but still sponsors projects on Kickstarter with his account. His old email address is dead now and his website is down.

I strongly suggest to not buy anything that has the names Gary McBride or Fire Mountain Games on it. And be careful what you backup on kickstarter.com. The least they could have done is to close Gary's account but they didn't even manage to do that. Seems all they care about is the money they get from the projects and nothing else.

A few questions for Mr. McBride:
1) What is the status of the bonus adventure?
2) What is the status of the poster maps?
3) What is the individual progress on books 3, 4, 5 & 6 in terms of percentage completed?
4) What is the status of the Way of the Wicked print copies & when will they ship?
5) Will ToN ship in individual books or all at once & why?
6) What happened with Ogre: Nightfall & what has been done to avoid that with this project?
7) Why have you been selling print copies of WotW 7 and not supplied them to the backers who already paid for them? When will you supply them?
8) What has been done to make sure that the impact of further delays to this project have been minimized?
9) Lastly, do you have any hope of actually finishing this project before 2016? 2017? 2018?
These are the things that are on all of our minds, Mr. McBride. Answering these questions as well as posting that revised release schedule and then actually...See more

At this point, he should be more focused on books 3-6 than on the bonus adventure, poster maps, other projects, etc.

Assuming that "Fire Mountain Games" even still exists.

Please do not purchase from this company, McBride has consistently ignored his customers, taken their money and after over a year and a half not only NOT provided the promised goods but actively avoided even answering our questions.

Please do not support him financially in any way until he has shown common courtesy to his customers!

I agree with Guild F, McBride is a thief and you should not support his studio.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
